  • We did a little burger research in Ipswich as to which sorts of burgers were available for different diners. There were lots of hunger busters, from Getta Burger's sensational tasty brisket burger to Cafe 63's Marilyn burger or the Retro Diner's Carnivore Challenge. Even the PA turned out a Vego burger, just because we asked! (Our eyes were on the marron, actually!) Take a look at Ipswich's buns on our website www.foodgoldcoast.com.au #burgers #ipswich #springfieldlakes
  • Meat & Co is just a little bit sexy! Newcomers to Surf Parade, these guys have done a fabulous fitout. They're using Cape Grim steak, Jack's Creek Wagyu and Teys ribs, so go check them out. @meatandco_ #broadbeach
  • Cafoo Izakaya has settled quietly into the space that held the Blue Door on 5th in Palm Beach, owner Chef Masa bringing a wealth of experience in izakaya and seafood to the area. It's seafood where Chef Masa excels, bringing his own creative twist to dishes such as Abuli salmon carpaccio, the seared slices of salmon finished with a homemade ponzu sauce, truffle oil, shallots, shredded chilli and red onion. There are Lunch and Daily Osusume specials, with plenty of fine Japanese whiskey and sake on offer. It’s the blend of old and new that’s intriguing at Cafoo Izakaya, so go along and discover your own favourites. Read the review of @cafooizakaya on our website.
  • One of the consistent performers in Top of the Town, Ipswich is Fourthchild. Cafe and restaurant, @fourthchild is open long hours, owner operated and all about local produce. Love the heritage of this cafe, situated in an old bank, the fabulous home baking and pleasant service. #discoveripswich
  • It was a dream come true for Lauren, owning a restaurant in this waterfront location. Not many restaurants have dolphins outside their door, or can boast being a former service station fronting the highway. Now SaltWater at Currumbin is calmer and far more atmospheric, a local haven for brekkie, a quiet lunch, tapas and a drink at sunset, or celebratory dinner. Service is personal and attentive, Chef Alex Sneesby (ex-Avvia & Burleigh Social) is doing a great job in the kitchen, and the view is to die for. Check out the review on our website.
  • Happy memories of Bali as we dine at @chopchopsurfersparadise in Bali in Paradise. Chicken satay is a Balinese favourite of ours, cooked over coconut husk embers in a little clay pig. Bali in Paradise is one way to return to those memories.
  • Some days mood demands hot and spicy chow mein, and none better than Kathmandu Momo's version @chopchopsurfersparadise . This Nepalese version of the Chinese dish has just the right amount of chilli and spice for taste without too much burn. Almost as addictive as the Buff Momo dumplings! @kathmandumomohouse
  • The classy Miss Moneypenny's opened in Broadbeach this week bringing all day dining from 7am brekkie to 11pm late night snacks and pizza. With Executive Chef Braden White in the kitchen, the food's pretty speckie, from sexy small bites to large dishes to share, all bases including vegetarian are covered. Great revival cocktails and a smashing wine list. Must go back for a sunny alfresco breakfast.
